Paddle Dryer suitable for sewage sludges, biogas residues, industrial sludge, drilling mud, biomass, digested manure, paper sludge etc.
In this paddle dryer both the trough and the paddles are heated via an electric hot oil boiler up to a max 400degC. The heat is then transferred to the product being dried in a uniform manner.
This unit was orignally designed for soil remediation and is called an In-Situ Thermal Desorption (ISTD) which is a remediation process where heat and vacuum are applied simultaneously to subsurface soils. Thermal conduction accounts for the majority of heat flow from the heat sources which in this case is the heated paddles. As soil is heated, volatile contaminants in the soil are vaporized by evaporation into the subsurface air stream introduced by application of vacuum. The contaminated air then passes through a water filled knockout pot and then through two activated carbon filters.
This plant was setup as a pilot plant and is in good working condition.
