Five (5) individual formaldehyde plants are immediately available for purchase. Plant A: 32,500 TPY; Plant B: 25,000 TPY; Plant C: 25,000 TPY; Plant D: 35,000 TPY; Plant E: 60,000 TPY. All these plants use Iron-Mo catalyst, and molten salt cooling system. Plant A, B, C, D can make Urea-Formaldehyde Precondensate (UFC). The production process is based on the catalytic oxidation of methanol in presence of an excess of air. The methanol-air mixture is safely kept outside of the explosion limits, diluting it with a partial recycle of the nitrogen rich exhaust gas. In the tubes of the reactor, which are filled with pellets of iron-molybdenum oxide catalyst, the exothermal oxidation reaction takes place, so that the outgoing gas contains almost no methanol. The temperature of the catalyst tubes is maintained constant by the recirculation of molten salts in the shell side of the reactor. The excess heat of the molten salts bath is removed producing steam in boiling water coils.
