This Machine is constructed at our plants here in Liberty, KY, using predominantly domestic and many off-the-shelf components.
The Frame is fabricated from structural steel and plate sections, then machined at all main and critical areas, providing a rigid, durable, and practical framework for the machine.
The Arbors/Shafts are of heat treated chromium/molybdenum steel and are of ample size to carry bending loads with minimum deflection.
The Bearings are of rolling element type, which results in minimum power loss; and the main bearings are of sealed spherical roller type, which are inherently self-aligning to compensate for shaft and frame deflection.
The Drives are either directly driven with hydraulic motors or through in-line type planetary drives with overall efficiency in excess of 95%. Each arbor/shaft is individually driven and equalized hydraulically.
Roller Speed is infinitely variable from 0 to 23 max. on all machines.
Roll Adjustment speed is also infinitely variable from 0 to max. on all machines. On Model 41 and larger, this adjustment is independent of rolling speed adjustment.
Standard Dies are accurately machined and through hardened for long life. Standard universal dies allow the user to roll angle leg in and leg out, tees leg in and leg out, flat on flat and on edge, and square bars.
Special Dies allow the user to roll round bars, pipe, and tubing in circles or spirals, I-beam and channel can be rolled on flange or on edge. Some WDM machines have been fitted to roll the following: aluminum extrusions, airfoil shaped pipe, high ratio flat on edge, and half pipe on strip
Guide Rolls are through hardened steel and run on rolling element type bearings. On the small machines, they are adjusted manually. The larger machines have either partial or complete hydraulic adjustment. (See specifications section)
Operating Position All machines up to the Model 60 can be operated in either horizontal or vertical positions, with shafts extending either upward or outward from machines. Larger models must be built for one or the other operating position.
Hydraulic System is of quiet design and uses state-of-the-art type components with the reservoir in integral part of the machine frame. This results in added heat dissipation.
Lubrication annually at most points is adequate for normal operating duty.
Electrical system is housed in NEMA 12 type enclosures. It is installed to the NFPA 79 code.
Machine Functions are controlled via push button type controls mounted on control pendant. Special controls are available.
Roll Position indicators are of dial/pointer type, as standard. The machine can be fitted with some of our Series 42 Controls which offer electronic digital readout(s) with or without presets.
