DESCRIPTION:
Abrasive style belt notchers have been around for a long
time and over that time many have tried, Baileigh Industrial
included, coming up with something better. And while the
newer machines did do some things better, no one was able to
replace the abrasive notcher entirely. They are perfect for
thin wall tubing as well as getting the job done fast,
really fast with a perfect cope.
The TN-400 abrasive notcher from Baileigh Industrial is on
the cutting edge of abrasive notching technology and is
perfect for coping the ends of 3/4" OD to 2" OD tubing or
pipe at almost any angle from 0 to 60 degrees. The TN-400
uses a 3 hp motor running on 220 volt single phase power to
spin the 79" x 4" belt at a speed of 5420' per minute.
The TN-400 does require a special mandrel for each size of
tube or pipe that you want to notch, but it does feature a
quick change mandrel system that allows the operator to
change it in seconds. The vise on the TN-400 abrasive
notcher is where the real magic happens. The vise carriage
rides on a smooth Thompson shaft assembly during the
notching cycle. The control lever is pivoted making the
material press into the belt. The vise is self centering for
perfect belt positioning every time. The jaws on the vise
are of a V-block design to keep the part on center with the
notching spindle and to hold the part more securely. The TN-
400 has a carriage stop for repeatable notches every time.
