Hot-plate for testing watch cases for condensation.
Aluminium hot-plate with thermostat adjustable between 30° and 110° centigrade, to take 3 trays of 20 watches each, i. e. 60 watches in all, with rectifier for trays.
Condensation test
After having checked the water-resistance of the cases in a vacuum and under pressure in the Aquavac and Aquavac PV apparatus, blow away the water with compressed air at a pressure of 2 to 3 kg/cm3. Then push the trays into the grooves of the Plarox and set the hot-plate to a temperature between 35° and 55° centigrade. All cases that show condensation under the glass should be rejected.
Duration of test : at 35°C = 3 to 4 minutes; at 45°C = 2 to 3 minutes; at 55°C = 1 to 2 minutes. To prevent undue buckling of the trays, avoid heating above 60°C.
